Whilst the title of this post is pretty self explanatory, it would be a shame to tarnish the vegan stereotype and not fill five pages of back story to my plethora of recipes. I can't actually remember the last recipe I tried to follow that didn't delve into the authors childhood love of (insert ingredient) or indeed the struggles said ingredient faced even to make its way into the country. Following a family of Avocados as they fight across the Black Sea, through Eastern Europe, only to be caught by the supermarket giants and torn from their families by shoppers, can sometimes put you off then smashing the sole survivor onto a slice of malted bloomer. Best not to know what savagery our veg encountered... as non vegan trolls always like to remind us, whilst eating a minced up cow leg: "PLANTS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!"

So, to try and keep anyone who bothers to read them, hungry and sane - I promise I won't dredge on and on about why certain recipes inspire me. One thing I can't promise, however, is that they will taste at all good either. Cooking, to sum it up, is a release for me and I enjoy sharing what I make shamelessly on Instagram anyway so may as well stick a few of them on here too. I also love eating and they go hand in hand.

As I mentioned in my intro post, I've been Veggie since I was 13 and now Vegan for almost four years. Mainly because I am against cruelty to animals in any form but also now because of the devastating effect animal agriculture has on the environment. I'm not going to into every sordid detail but if you want to have a wee read about it, I wrote an article here.
